Coaching, the secret sauce of successful athletes

Covid impacted our opportunity to exercise and the lasting effect of lockdown on our physical and mental health is becoming all too apparent. This has, however, increased the appetite of many to take on new challenges and train to a higher level, as a way of retaking control and making up for lost time.

But, how do we reach these goals quickly and without wasting time? The short answer is get a coach.

Coaching is often misunderstood. They are often mistaken as autocratic plan writers reserved for top athletes,  Who force their athletes to stick rigidly to the plan and if they fail to comply there must be something wrong with the athlete.

This could not be further from the truth!

By enlisting the help of a coach, you are not just buying a plan (although you will get one), you are building a team.

A coach has a wealth of experience and knowledge, they will pull together all vital physical, psychological, nutritional and planning practices together. This allows you to focus on the execution and enjoyment of your training, confident you are on the right track to success. So, when you arrive at the start line you are the full package, fully prepared to perform at your potential.

Together you devise a flexible action plan. The coach will constantly compare the plan to execution and adapt the plan based on how you respond.

They will hold you accountable in a supportive way to maximise training consistency. Your strengths will be capitalised on and your weaknesses built upon, until they are no longer a limiting factor.

As the coaching relationship develops they will become a voice, an angel on your shoulder guiding your thoughts and intentions during every workout, ensuring you hit the right targets at the right time.

They will give you rest when you need rest, and push you when you need a push.

If you have a goal in mind discuss it with our team of top coaches Ralph Mary and Alex who will be more than willing to help you.
