Coaching

Our coaches have a wealth of knowledge and experience between them and draw on each other’s strengths to help with each individual athlete.

We coach endurance athletes, such as: triathletes, runners, cyclists, long distance swimmers and adventurers, with bespoke training programmes based on their individual needs and goals.

Working with one of our coaches isn’t just about being handed training sessions with the occasional check-in to see how you’re getting on. It considers your life both in and away from sport, plus, your motivations and goals. This is where our multi-layered approach can deliver for you.

In addition to individual coaching, RnR Sport offers group coaching to teams of individuals who share the same goal, either individually, or as part of a relay.

And, if you have an epic sporting challenge and need help beyond your training, we can help with that too.

Our philosophy: How does it work?

All athletes will start with a free 30-minute consultation with either Athlete Performance Director, Ryan or Fitness Coach and Sports Nutrition Advisor, Alex. This is a chance for you to find out more about RnR Sport and whether you feel we’re a good fit for you.

If we can help, you can take advantage of one of our coached packages. You’ll have a dedicated lead coach, but as with everything at RnR Sport, we work as a collective - enlisting the skills and knowledge of our team to give you the best support possible.

Coaching is available both face-to-face and remotely, with the right mix to suit each individual, or team. Coaching provided includes:

  • 1:1 and team endurance coaching

  • 1:1 personal training

  • Sports Nutrition Advisory

What we offer

Endurance Sports Coaching

We cover running, cycling, triathlon, swimming, adventure racing and more - and we’ll never give you an off-the-shelf training plans because we don’t believe there are off-the-shelf athletes.

If you only want a training plan, there are plenty you can get free online. Instead, we promote a coach and athlete partnership where we learn about you, your commitments, motivations and coaching needs, and work to develop a process that will help you achieve your goals in the most rewarding way.

We believe in your potential and want to work with athletes who have aspirations that stretch and excite them, whether that is a first race, qualifying for an age-group team or setting a world record.

We deliver coaching both remotely and face-to-face and begin with a free 30-minute consultation before creating a custom coaching package and finalising fees.

One-to-one coaching costs £150-£200 per calendar month, with additional nutritional, personal training and physio support available.

Where appropriate, we bring in specialists to complement our coaching, including top international nutritionists (including Nigel Mitchell), strength and conditioning coaches (including Erin Carson) and open water swim experts (Tim Denyer of Red Top swimming).

Face-to-Face Personal Training

After an initial video consultation, Alex or Ralph (London), or Mary (Cambridge) will deliver a targeted approach and programme for your specific fitness needs and objectives. Workouts are designed to improve sport specific strength as well as body awareness and control. Our approach takes into consideration your lifestyle, current training and health and sporting goals to deliver the best results possible.

  • Inclusive 30min initial consultation (via Zoom) with your personal trainer before first session

  • Introductory offer £65 for a 50min session

  • 1 x 50-minute session pack £75 (1-month expiry)

  • 6 x 50-minute session pack £375 (3-month expiry)

  • 12 x 50-minute session pack £687.50 (6-month expiry)

Remote Personal Training (via Zoom)

With the same ethos as the face-to-face training, designed to help you achieve your fitness goals, Alex or Mary will work with you remotely via Zoom.

 In today’s turbulent times you will be able to continue meaningful and rewarding training from the safety of your own home. Alex or Mary will adapt everything to suit your home setup even if you have absolutely no equipment available.

  • Inclusive 30-minute initial consultation (via Zoom) with your personal trainer before first session

  • Introductory offer £50 for a 50-minute session

  • 1 x 50-minute session pack £60 (1 month expiry)

  • 6 x 50-minute session pack £285 (3 month expiry)

  • 12 x 50-minute session pack £500 (6 month expiry)

You can upgrade to face-to-face sessions for an additional charge of £15 per session, subject to location and availability.

Remote Personal Training Consultation (via Zoom)

- with bespoke instructional videos 

Aimed at athletes who are cognisant of a specific area for improvement with regards to strength development or mobility.

Why go online and follow any old generic workout video when you can benefit from Alex or Mary’s targeted workouts designed specifically for you even if you have an unpredictable schedule.

Slot in the work you need to do around the life you have. In this service you will be provided with a bespoke 10-20 minute instructional video you can work out along to and use any time and almost anywhere. The video will be designed to work alongside your current training and life.

An initial 30-minute consultation (via Zoom) will identify the key areas you need to work on, aligned with your goals such as strength, balance, mobility, flexibility and stability. Alex or Mary will then produce bespoke detailed instructional video(s) to guide you through a progressive plan.

  • Consultation, plus bespoke workout £120

  • Consultation, plus 3 bespoke workouts (with two check-in calls up to 45-minutes, between issuing video 2 and 3) £300

Sports Nutrition Advisory

RnR Sports Nutrition

It’s not news that eating well and having a positive relationship with food is key to success in sport and maintaining a healthy body and mind.

No matter what your level, a diet that does not support your training correctly short-changes your development every single day.

Alex and Ralph have a user friendly practical approach to changing the way you eat long term, without chaining you to a set of food scales and missing out on your favourite foods.

During your initial session with Alex or Ralph, you will begin the process of getting to know you and your relationship with food. Then together you will outline a set of behaviours to maximise your successes and minimise your failures. 

  • 1 off session £40 (includes 60-minute consultation with a follow up email)

  • Ongoing monthly package 1 x 45-minute planning session (via Zoom) with weekly follow up Zoom sessions (up to 45-minutes) and WhatsApp support in-between £150 a month
