Ralph Hydes
Head coach
Ralph has been a triathlon coach since 2000 and has trained many athletes to representative honours.
As one of London Triathlon’s official coaches for 10 years, Ralph hosted training weekends for more than 400 first-time triathletes.
The long-time head coach of London-based Thames Turbo Triathlon Club, he’s also been the official coach for Triforlife and Fun2tri events, as well as guiding staff and first-time triathletes at HSBC and Curry’s in corporate challenges.
Ralph holds coaching qualifications with British Triathlon, Ironman and ASA swimming, and in circuit training, sports therapy and rehabilitation, advanced personal training and sports nutrition.
Ralph coaches in disciplines ranging from 5km to ultra marathons and Ironman events and believes that one of the most rewarding aspects of coaching is helping each individual to achieve excellence, with the creativity and initiative needed to make sessions interesting and effective.
As an athlete, Ralph has competed for Great Britain’s age-group team at eight world championships in triathlon and duathlon.
